Taramakau River Bridge
Client: Waka Kotahi, New Zealand Transport Agency
Contractor: Fulton Hogan
Status: Completed 2018
The Taramakau bridge project involves a 250m, 2-lane road bridge over the Taramakau River including a 14m, 2-lane rail overpass, skewed to the railway line, at the southern approach and provisions for safe off road facilities for Pedestrians and Cyclists.
The road bridge consists of two 33m land/end spans and five 36m river/internal spans, made up of pre cast, pre-stressed super tee girders with a topping slab whereas the highly skewed rail overpass consists of precast double hollow core beams supported on MSE Wall foundations in the rail corridor.
